Collision triptych 42-81-42x122 cm
"From a few elements that are partly shown, she tries to evoke in such a way that the mind improvises its path in a world where figuration and abstraction go side by side." |
Planets and hellfires
acrylic on panel,
This series is a climax in Fabienne Quinsac's pictorial path. Little by little, in the early 2000's, acrylic had overwhelmed the use of tar. A few years later, the French painter moved away from her traditional inspirations and themes (fantasy landscapes, rivers, rocks...). Light is still prominent, but the spectator's eye is now travelling the paintings as if caught in a wave. Fabienne's works offer a stunning depth, both concrete and intimate After she achieved the masterpiece Collision, Fabienne, who never considered the idea of repeating herself, even when standing on an artistic peak, branched out to a progressive bareness, although with a clash/symbiosis between red and black. This was going to lead Fabienne to a new series, whose early stages already appear in paintings such as Fragmentation and Brűlé (Burned) (see bottom of page).
